  • I think so, Rosie. Not that they are completely devalued now. When people see what a mess things get into when morality and integrity is lacking, especially in our own leaders, they will begin to value it more. We have gone through these times of "All for me and me for none" before. We went through it in the late 1800's. Again in the 1920's-30. Pretty much in the 1960's. It goes in cycles.
  • When was the fabled time when such things were truly valued? You are suffering from Golden Age syndrome, when people believe that things were better at some magic time in the past, usually just before they became politically aware. There have always been ups and downs in Integrity, and I think we are emerging from a low. But not a particularly bad low; things have been as bad before, and will be again. Of course we must fight to raise the average standard - but now is not a particularly bad time.
  • I don't believe that those virtues have ever gone out of style. Some people's ideas of what virtue is are more astringent than others.
