  • You're paying for the care of your child. It doesn't make any difference whether you see her or not (although I'm sorry you don't get to see her!) I don't know what you can do about getting your back due child support lowered, but I suggest talking to someone who knows more about it. Perhaps if you show committment to paying off your back debt you can get some sort of payment plan worked out. Good luck.
  • i have paid faithfully on this and the mother wont allow me to see her im not a dead beat dad and i send boxes of school clothes she just sends them back she wants nothing to do with me i have visitation rights but she moved out of state without my permission im paying on intrest from the state on the back pay i owed and was denied lowering all this woman has 4 kids by 4 diffrent men and i am the only one who pays child support she told the judge i should pay for her car note house note and all of it shes a welfare recipient who just lives off the system
  • How the hell did you get that far behind while in the Navy, or is that from since you left? If so, you should have gotten a modification years ago. To get it lowered now: http://tinyurl.com/ChildSupportModifications But, that won't affect the arrears.
  • ty for the advice awsome info on the website actually i owe 20 grand to the mother which i have been paying month to month then the state put 32k or so intrest on top of that so iam paying 500 or so a month the state intrest is whats killing me i wanted to know how to lower the balance they were charging me for 16 yrs what i made in the navy and i was only in for 2 yrs i have petion the court to lower it so i was wondering can i get a lawyer pull my ssi past income records to change the past due amounts they have charged me
  • i hope you can't. just think of the hardship you put your daughter through by not giving her financial support. your beef is with your ex not your daughter and you probably made her live harder. if you owe 40k sounds like you didn't even pay a dime. you get the father of the year award.
