2 cups water to 1 cup of rice. Bring water just to a boil, add rice reduce heat and cover, simmer about 20 mns. NEVER STIR!! Stirring makes the rice sticky. Add a bit more water for brown rice. The rice will soak up all the water. No need to rinse, just fluff and serve

I have a rice setting on my microwave that works just fine. I put the water and rice in a glass bowl with a lid, and in about 15 minutes, it's perfect rice. Thanks for reminding me, it's time to fix dinner. We're having rice with creamed spinach and fish salsa.

I've always cooked it in a pot on the stove and it turns out really good though I have friends who swear by rice cookers because you don't have to time it or worry about taking it off the heat at the right time.

I wash my rice, put clean water in, then stick in in the rice cooker. It only takes about 20 minutes. Then I have beautiful, fresh, warm, yummy rice. ;)

Some oil, some chopped onion, some salt. Sometimes butter :) In a rice pot, the water formula is 2 cups of water per rice cup (a rice cup is a portion more or less) and then add another of water). Just let it dry enough and enjoy.

I use long-grain rice. For each cup of rice, use 1 3/4 cups of cold water. Put rice in a 1-quart saucepan, add water, stir, and put on medium heat (I have an electric cooktop). Bring to a boil and then turn off the burner but leave the pan there, covered. After about 20 minutes, it's done. No burning since it cooks off the residual heat from the electric coil. It really works and is a safe, fool-proof way to cook rice.

It depends on the kind of rice you have. Each kind of rice has a different cooking time and some rices can't be cooked in the microwave. The kind I use most is Jasmine and I can cook it in the microwave in one of the microwave rice cooker bowls. I turn it on 100% power for 5 minutes then 50% power for ten minutes.
