  • They have one to tell
  • I will write you a story about it .
  • I think they have a very vivid imagination and can easily put that down on paper. I am not real good at it but can do it. +5
  • I don't always "like" writing stories. Sometimes I HAVE to write a story. For me, it's just something I need to do. I need to create. Writing people down on a page, giving them love and hate and boredom is as close to the act of creation as I get, in an artistic sense.
  • I think people write stories so they can live lives or at least parts of lives through someone else. When I write, it's therapeutic, I can be anyone.
  • too much creativity why let it go to waste!!
  • To "take" people to places they've never been. To "make" people feel feelings they WANT to feel, and sometimes those they DON'T want to feel. To present something they researched, like their family history, the bio of someone famous, the history of an area, etc. To put memories in order, and describe them such that people can "see" them happening. To (hopefully) get a best-seller and screenplay from it. Pretty much, the same reason people write music, poetry, journals, diaries, etc. Well... The latter aren't necessarily for those in the present, but for those in the future.
  • It gets takes them away from reality.
  • creative outlet
  • 'Cause they can't play guitars?! ;-)
  • I write stories because I get ideas which just seem to have to come out or I go nuts. I can't speak for anyone else.
  • Giving life to characters I, myself, could never explore. Feeling the thrill of the risk a character has to take. Writing feelings you'd never admit to. Exploring the darkest thoughts with passion. Hoping that one day somebody will read what you've written and you'll make them feel how you felt when you really connected to a story. My reasons. :)
  • I write to create a new reality temporarily. Solving similar problems as my own through a story helps quite a bit when trying to find solutions to dilemmas. Often times I also want to get the ideas down on paper in case they actually turn into something better than I had originally planned.
  • I like to write becuase its an easy way to let out emotions. Or a lot of the time, I get a creative spark and put it on paper, then all the sudden, I have a story that fills up my whole notebook. There pleanty of different reasons, but I think people who really like reading are more prone to like writing.
