  • G'day Baybii-J, Thank you for your question. It isn't unusual in my understanding for your tongue to be sore afterwards. However, I would be very careful about infections. For your reference, the British Dental Association recommends that people don't get their tongues pierced but it is too late now. At the first sign of an infection, I would see a doctor.   • the little piece of skin you describe is probably a bit of your tongue that has been pushed by the bead while your tongue has been swollen and the soreness is just a little bruising. mine did this too. just keep following your aftercare instructions and you'll be just fine.
