  • I'm no veterinarian, but if your dog starts eating again and appears to be feeling better, the dirt and stones were the cause, but if the problem ersists, try different dog foods, and also, check any house plants or yard plants for missing chunks and also any of the dog's toys that the dog may have eaten, if another dog food doesn't work, feed the dog cheese and water until she feels better. Good Luck
  • Any dog throwing up Bile for 3 days should see a vet as soon as they can, or call the vet for phone advice. Not knowing you or why you cannot I will say what I know from what you say - This is a hard to say as she could be doing this for attention to get scraps. the dirt and rocks are a likely thing to have done this but when things like this happen it may be best to not feed any scraps, have her drink lots. she sounds like she has an upset stomach so maybe a cup of boiled brown rice will ease her belly and then slowly after a day or so if she does not throw up ease her back on to her regular food. Scraps are not a good thing to ever give a dog because their systems are not like ours. Hope that helps. This is what I have learnt as a vet tech
  • Take your dog to the Vet...if money is a problem, tell the vet you will need to make payments, tell them exactly how much you will pay and what days you will make the payment, THEN DO WHAT YOU'VE PROMISED TO DO....This will establish your credibility with them...if you are afraid they will refuse this, have the dog seen FIRST...then when it's time to pay, deal with it. I realize this is a bit on the sneaky side, but if you ARE going to see that they are paid WITHOUT FAIL...then you have to choose what is best for your dog. I KNOW how hard it can be sometimes with cash flow, but please understand....when we assume responsibility for owning any animal, we ALSO ASSUME the responsibility for ALL OF THAT ANIMAL'S NEEDS...including medical care, and emergency medical care...your dog depends upon you to take PROPER care of her...sometimes this has meant that I MUST DO WITHOUT things to care for my animals, or at times take on a second job, because I CHOOSE to have multiple animals! I also usually keep one platinum credit card empty for emergencies...if I'm forced to run it up...by golly I have to pay the sucker off! The bottom line is that there is no "WISH" to this problem...something is not right with your dog and YOU have to see to it that the problem is ADDRESSED NOW. If what your dog needs medically is more than you can assume for an on-going basis...(drinking huge amounts of water can be anything from an upset stomach to diabetes...which DOES cost a lot to maintain, but it CAN BE done) then you will be faced with a decision...rehome the dog to someone with the money and time to deal with the disease, or have the dog put to sleep...painful as hell, believe me I KNOW. But you have to always think in terms of "WHAT IS BEST FOR MY DOG." It may end up being GOOD NEWS, affordable news!! But if it's not...the least "we" here at AB can do is SUPPORT YOU emotionally in making a good and right decision for your Dog's comfort and quality of life...let us know..I'll keep you and the pup in prayer too.
  • We just took our dog to the vet yesterday. He has been throwing up white / foamy with dark stuff inside. The vet put him on 5mg of Pepsid twice a day. We got the 10mg at the store and cut them in half. ($6 instead of $20 at the vet). They also told us to take him off his normal food and start feeding boiled chicken and rice. Smaller amounts and more meal times. They said to do this for 2 weeks. Tonight he threw up again. The white foamy part was around thick dark stuff. It had already begun to harden. I broke it up in my hands - felt it and smelt it. It was dark dirt. I think. He ate his fecis yesterday. He just discovered dirt. My question is - -- Will dirt hurt?
  • My father in laws dog is throwing up yellow bile too, we found little black hard plastic things in it and then discovered a toy someone gave him the end had been chewed off. It was supposed to be indestructible. They did xrays and it showed gas and looked like his intestines were bunched up. The vet hydrated him and sent him home two times now. tomorrow he will have an ultrasound. thye gave him chicken and rice and he threw up bile again. Do you think something is stuck in there from the toy? This is what I am thinking. he is a two year old beautiful Golden.
  • Take your dog to the vet. My 7 month old puppy threw up and just died on January 9,2009. She was acting sick.Standing in one place then going to another. We called our local Vet and all we got was an uncaring snotty attitude. They said they MUST have 32.00 dollars just to Look at the puppy. They sounded very discouraging. We made the mistake of waiting One day. Because we were going to take her to the vet the next day, first thing in the morning. But she was found dead curled up under my window. I am heartbroken.I've cried for two days straight. I loved that dog so much. Nothing can replace her. IF the vets office had been more friendly and helpful when we called, We would have took her to the vet right then.but They acted so HATEFUL and Uncaring on the phone. It scared me off from their service. I wish I could turn back time. I would have just took her to the vet anyway, right then and not waited. I just didnt realize my dog didnt have one more day. I dont understand what happened to her. Even if I take a future new puppy to the vet It still will Not bring my beloved puppy back. I want her Back So Bad! She died so fast and I dont know why. I keep thinking of what she would be doing if she were here right now. And I played with her every evening and now shes gone. I dont want to live anymore. I want my puppy Back! why didnt I just take her to the vet? I just didnt realize how sick she really was.
  • I'm also no vet, but cheese and water sounds like a detremental suggestion to me. A bland diet of boiled rice and chicken is better advice - for a couple of days or more and then start to introduce normal food mixed with the bland diet again...
