The Bank of Mexico reported that some 7 billion or so dollars (not pesos), were sent to Mexico from Mexicans working in other countries and that "the overwhelming majority of that money comes from the United States." i dont know if you have ever lived in mexico, but its pretty much impossible to improve it if you lived where i lived. when we come to america we bring the culture with us. a lot of the south is chicano, if you look around you can find it.

I think you are are confusing enconomics & culture. Most of the Mexicans I've met are proud of their culture & heritage, but live & work in America for economic reasons.

Well, a good deal of the southern USA used to be their homeland and even carries Mexican names (New Mexico?) It used to be their homeland - they are just reclaiming it on a non-military fashion.

We have not abandoned our culture, like you stated we are proud of our heritage. Unfortunately the government in Mexico is corrupted. Like all immigrants that come to America, we come to make a better living for our families. Let's not forget Mexico owned California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Our land was take from us. We were put on buses and kicked out just like the native Indians were pushed to the Mid West. The one’s that remained in the US were placed in reservations. America was founded by foreigners. Who are the true American’s? Generations and Generations of being American citizen's that is who, no matter what blood runs through your veins.

Unfortunately many of our ancestors did not have the luxury to go to school in order to obtain and education. The poverty level is so high and there is no Welfare or Government assistance program's.Children as young as 6 years old had no choice but to work as hard as an Adult to get something to coat their stomachs to live another day. I am well aware of this because both of my parents went through the horrific experience in order to get to the United States. I am extremely happy that they came to this country of opportunity. Since they both are go getters they took advantage of the public school system, learned the language, became citizens and are doing very well financially. So yes I am extremely proud of my heritage and it still breaks my heart to see Children raised in the United States take all that they have for granted. Stop the sterotyping because you become ugly inside we are still going to keep coming LOL

Or maybe the Irish, who are so proud of their heritage and yet came to America by the droves at various times, like during the great potato famine?
