  • Always assume so. A person's hearing is the last sense to go before death... Assuming they heard in life, anyway.
  • I can't remember his name but there was a person in France during the revolution that noticed when a person was beheaded they still looked aware for a minute or so. He talked to a prisoner that was going to get the guillotine and asked him to blink his eyes after his head was cut off if he could. And the guy blinked his eyes three times or something like that.
  • A person's hearing is always the last thing to go so even if they are unconscious and dying they will still hear what you say.
  • When I was in sugery and they were trying to wake me up, I heard them scream, "She's not breathing! They must have done something because here I am. +5
  • I asked my primary doctor about this because the phone was put up to my sister's ear on her deathbed for me to say my "final" good-byes. I wanted to know if she could hear me. My doctor said, "If she was on morphine and heavily sedated, probably NOT. But we (the medical profession) don't really know FOR SURE!" ! I'm afraid that's about the best answer you're going to get!
