Why is it if the world is in need of gas that we waste it on race cars ect... for a sport that barely anyone watches or participates in?

You must not be from the South. If you were, you're television would be on for the NASCAR race every week. But I do agree that we waste a lot of gas for ridiculous things, mostly NASA. There is absolutely no need whatsoever to waste the fuel to go to other planets when we are in such sorry need of it right here on earth. But you have to think of it in another perspective: If we are in such a great need for fuel, why haven't all the countries of the world, especially the U.S. put a cap on the amount of fuel usage? There are so many variables that it is almost impossible to pinpoint what the reasoning behind it is. We can only do our part and hope for the best. Or raise hell about it, it's your choice.

i was wondering that too. well stuff like nascar and stuff like that is really really big in the south.
