Only if they did the same for kosher slaughter on the same grounds. And let's not forget certain Christian sects like those of some Armenian Christians and their ritual slaughtering methods and practices. I find it interesting that whenever this question is raised these days it is in reference to halal practices, when kosher practices are practically the same. Of course, back in the day the Nazis in their propaganda used the spectre of kosher slaughter to portray the Jews as callous and blood-thirsty. Who knows? I suppose it might work again for the Muslim haters.

yes.

Yep. Halal slaughter is animal cruelty. It can take a cow that is slaughtered in this manner up to two minutes to bleed out. After the throat of the animal is cut, clots can form in the severed arteries, slowing blood loss, and delaying unconsciousness. The animal can be awake for minutes, as it slowly and painfully bleeds to death. I don't care if it is a 'religious custom'. If my religion dictated that I be able to punch children in the face, should society allow it? Honoring religious beliefs MUST be balanced with having a fair and good society. When a religious tradition is in conflict with what is fair, humane, and ethical, it should be thrown out. Religion is NOT paramount.

No. They are not more cruel than methods used in many abattoirs, nor are they less clean.
