Why does my cat "love" my shoes? she just rubs, and purrs, and has been doing this for 8 years and i just cant find an answer.

My cat loves shoes too, especially when we first come home from being outide. I think it's because of the strange smells on them, she likes to rub her head on the shoes so that they smell like her again, and enjoys the sensation.

My cat is exactly the same. The only thing I could come up with was that she has an appreciation for fine italian leather (or primark plastic, but no point picking holes in these things now!)

my cat loves the strap of my knapsack i carry. I presume it is because it has my smell on it, and she regards me as senior female (mum). Maybe the shoe thing is the same.

For the first time, I have a cat that has started playing with my shoes. We've only had him for about five months when he followed my son home from the bus stop. I think it's hilarious to see him rolling around on the floor with it. Only mine, no one else's.
