At home, never. At work on Mondays and Fridays (different office than rest of week), I'm right across the road from the railway and trains go by ever 10-15 minutes. Not always with a whistle tho.
I love the sound of trains :)
On average about 20 times a day. Then again, I do drive trains!
..we have the TriMet commuter train here and if I'm not locked in my warehouse I hear it.....they run every 15 or 20 minutes but the sound isn't annoying...of course maybe it is to those that live near it..
I hear it all the time at my job, since there are many trains that pass by back and forth.
Never! I live in an island!!
The only time I can hear the trains is when it is early morning when everything is still....Nearest track is 5 miles.
3-4 i live near railroads
On the week days I will hear them two or three times.
On Saturadys, four times.
Every other Sunday I will hear them twice.
It is Not a quaint sound.
None, I don't live by any trains.
Never.
