Why are people constantly comparing the current health care reform measures to the Canadian/British systems when it's really more like the Swiss?

All they hear is that 'S' word and start thinking of the other larger places that use the system.

For me it is because the democrats said themselves that they were going to use the Canadian system as a model. Either way it's bad news for every American. Why mess up 90% plus of the population's health care to add the rest to a lower quality system. I am reading the bill now and don't like what I am seeing.

our current system is much more capitalistic leaning than the swiss and dramatically more so than the canadians and british. i suspect that we will end up with a more socialized system integrated with private care, more like swiss.

Because very few understand the complexities involved and they are getting most of their information from the 2.4 trillion dollar industry and from AstroTurfed outfits and politicians its money supports.
