Help answer this question below.
I guess it somehow falls under the category of freedom of speech.
Actually, it is not a law violation for one person to record a two-person phone conversation.
A third party(the police)require a search warrant.
Transferring your answering machines statements to a CD is not illegal, since a third party is not involved.
Ever made a phone call to a business and they tell you this conversation may be recorded for training purposes?
Same difference.
No, it isn't. She can do whatever she wants with the messages once you've left them on HER machine.
Not that I know of but I would seek out some revenge on her, like film her picking her noes and show her friends.
If the sign says 55, but they won't stop you unless you're going 70, what is the speed limit? Is it what the sign says, or the cop?

You're reading Is it illegal for my sister to put the answering machine messages on a cd I left her after she upset me and let others listen to the cd?

Once again, your answer is incorrect. You state: "Actually, it is not a law violation for one person to record a two-person phone conversation." This is illegal in many states. Some states only require one party's consent, but many others require all parties to consent.
...
In fact, the reason why businesses state "this conversation may be recorded for training purposes" is to avoid breaking the law by getting your consent.

I can't believes they put me in this situation to begin with. I feel so hurt and that there has to be some kind of law to stop this betrayal. I would never even dream of doing what they did to me to another. If I had the phone messages she left me and the video camera of something she did she would be pissed if I told anyone! She did something to me that could ruin her career if I told anyone.

Unfortunately, there really is no law because you consented to having your voice recorded. There are a few privacy torts that may give you some recourse, but these would be very fact specific, and most likely do not apply.
