Zionists created the Jewish state which the world knows As Israel. This was to have a place which they could call home. In the bible; Israelites was cast out of their land since before the days of Pharoah and have wandered ever since. The Jewish state was officially recognized in 1948. The anti-zionists believe only the Messiah will lead the Jewish people back to the holy land.

i believe that beginning in the last half of the 19th century, hopes of the jews returning to their native homeland grew. the atrocities committed during WW2 necessitated the creation of the State of Israel. Haaa! Hitler would be rolling over in his grave if he knew the blessings that have come from some of the earth's darkest days! in 1947, probably 99% of the world's jewish population favored a jewish state. i haven't read data, but, today, i'd imagine it's only 66%. i suspect that many became disillusioned with the wars, violence, and abuses of the Palestinian people living in Israel. i am not jewish. I am not anti-zionist nor anti-semitic. i know a few people who are jewish who've been pro and anti-zionistic. many don't seem to care, sadly.
