This happened to me and my wife many times. When you win a lot of money, you are confident that you will win more. When you don't, you end up losing all you won. Then you want to get the money back, so you keep gambling with money you can't afford to use, and the next thing you know you are broke, extended all your credit, and maxed out your credit cards. My wife even wiped out my retirement fund without telling me. Gambling is very addictive and it's a sickness. This went on with us for a long time. We almost lost out house, had to do a bankruptcy, and then had to default on the bankruptcy because we couldn't even pay the courts. Finally we had to go "cold turkey" and sincerely resolve to stay away from the casinos. Slowly, we are getting our lives back. The feeling you describe is sickening, but it is the punishment you pay for gambling, just like a hangover is the punishment for excessive drinking, and nothing can make it go away except changing your habits and then giving it about a year to turn around. The only good news is that you are not alone in this. Another good thing that happened to me is that I wrote a song about this, and I think it as hit potential!
