  • In a way, they encourage criminals to be more meticulous in their planning of crimes, by showing how they might be caught. Forensic "secrets" really shouldn't be known to criminals, because they become "better" criminals, as a result. +5
  • I'm pretty sure most of that stuff they show on there is fiction, and I kinda doubt anyone in their right mind would use a show like that as guidelines to successful crime. But I guess you never know...I mean if you watch Law and Order, you might learn a little bit about lying to detectives and perhaps getting away with it.
  • Actually they are "procedural crime dramas." "Forensic" means "pertaining to, connected with, or used in courts of law or public discussion and debate."
  • It probably inspires a few more people than would have been to figure out ways to get away with a murder. Of course, who can say how successful it is. Of course, most murder probably isn't well thought, and spur of the moment.
  • Some of them; like Forensic Files, encourages some criminals by showing them how to avoid getting caught in some instances. I prefer Law and Order (one of my all-time favorite shows) because it's more about the story than the actual evidence.
  • Maybe the fact they show how they can catch people for the slightest little blood splatter it would help to make some people think harder about getting caught.
  • i think they give ppl ideas and shows them ways to not get caught.
  • I think it encourages potential criminals to "think smarter". But remember, the "best" crimes are yet unsolved.
  • About as much as Dragnet and Adam12 did in the 70s.
  • Who says the ways they solve these things are how REAL criminal investigators work??
