  • Yes. One is hired to do a job. Not turn it into a fiefdom of corruption.
  • I have told many people who do not take their job seriously to "Get the hell out of my kitchen and don't come back!"
  • Yes, indirectly. Sometimes your complaint just happens to be the one that breaks the camels back, so to speak.
  • I really wish I could though. There are some seriously nasty women at my job and I would love for them to go.
  • No, but not for lack of trying. There have been a couple of times that I could see that a coworker had a complete lack of character, but I couldn't get anyone to listen until that person actually committed a crime. In all three cases, the person did eventually commit a crime at work. In one case, the crime was picking my pocket, and "stuffing lates" or defrauding the company by claiming a pizza was late and stuffing the three dollar difference in their own pocket. The only problem is, when you stuff twenty lates in a night, and the manager knows they were sent out in good time, said manager gets suspicious and starts calling the customer to make sure they were given the three dollar discount and you get caught. The second person was caught red-handed stealing $600 out of a coworkers purse right after she'd cashed her pay check. The third person was caught trying to proposition a minor in a locked room.
  • No, not yet.
  • No. The people I have fired were resposible for their own actions that put me in a position were I felt the need to fire them.
  • I have directly fired -- for cause -- two people in my career. One I really hated to, but he gave me no choice. The other one ... lol ... man, that guy was psycho. I didn't want to fire him either, but after it was done I was glad that I had. Other than that, with construction being as cyclical as it is, and projects completing and contracts closing, I've laid off (RIF) any number of workers.
  • Not so much responsible for it, they got themselves fired, but I had to be the one to fire them. I once had to walk into a room and fire 25 people at one time..talk about awkward! I've had to fire many people over the years in various jobs I have had and with the exception of one or two most of them wanted to argue, scream, yell, threaten, break stuff, cry, retaliate, etc...people don't take it well even when they know beyond a doubt they deserved to get fired.
  • Hardly
  • not that im aware of. lol
  • not that I know of
  • No, they were. But I'd fire them again. :)
