I was installing and using seat belts when our governor was in diapers. Now, she has, by decree, made it a $100 offense to not have the shoulder harness in it's proper place.
She can kiss my ass.
When I was a firefighter I went to some scenes where the seat belt helped and some where the person would have been totally dead if they were wearing one. So from that experience I say it can go either way.
I do believe they save lives. Statistics and experience make me believe this.
Seat belts have been statistically proven to save lives. We had an accident last September and I firmly believe that had we not been wearing our seat belts, we would have gone through the windshield.
actually, maybe it's that the last act that a dying person does is reach over and undo their seatbelt, hoping to escape and survive.
They save more lives than they cost. But they're not perfect and there are accidents where a person would have been better off not wearing them.
.
The trick is to wear your seat belt but take it off right before impact when you can tell that it's the other kind of accident. ;)
They save lives, as do car seats (if hooked up right).
I think my life has been saved twice because I was wearing my seat belt.
yes the seat belts and the air bag.
no dude....I have been saved by a seatbelt...they work!

You're reading Do you believe that wearing seat belts help to save lives, or do people that survive accidents lie that they were wearing them?
