As far as I can tell, they are a mix of parties, many of them independents. You don't have to have a party affiliation to let people know what you think. It would be a violation of privacy to check their party affiliation.

All sides are busy trying to demonize their opponents. I think people are afraid and don't want Obamaplan in any form. I think the townhall meetings are doing exactly as intended; allowing ALL people to express themselves - in all ways. It's just not what the current administration wants to hear so they are criticizing the messenger of negative feedback. All sorts of folks in every party have issues with it for various reasons. Some don't want it because Obama wants to rush it through, not allow close scrutiny. He's riled up the pro-life people with govt funded abortions, the anti-illegals don't want illegals to have same access as they do. Disabled and older folks don't want an additional layer of bureaucracy to come between them and timely, comprehensive health care --- some think it'll be more expensive, and some folks just don't think it'll be an improvement over the current system. The only groups that seems for it (IMHO) are those who have no health care resources and will not be paying for it AND folks who like the idea of socialism in general.

Of course it's assumption that anyone who doesn't want to live in Obamaland is a Republican.
