  • That's kind of the pot calling the kettle black, and stereotyping. I am not a Christian, but I know many who do not mind people who believe differently or don't believe at all. I know a lot of people who just like to argue with Christians and tell them how stupid their religion is. Everyone is different. No offense to you though......just a thought
  • Belief requires a gamble - and in that sense one is always seeking reinforcement for their chosen belief in the absence of contentedly "knowing" without a need to have a reflection to substantiate it. Its the same with political affinities. That seed of doubt essentially seeks to drive one to condemn those who show any conviction which threatens their own, because it not only reflects their own (often suppressed) level of doubt, but in more mundane & practical terms, sends an unpleasant lack of endorphines flooding through their neuro chemistry where they are praying for one to be. Oh the irony. Forgive them, for they know not what they do.
  • I don't believe they all are...I don't believe most of them are. Only the extreme-right-wing politically motivated are hostile, judmental, arrogant, and hateful. They are pompous..they believe God is on their side...how much more full of yourself can you get than to believe you know such things? Those who are followers of the true faith...those who ignore the condescending pulpit practioners/the loudmouths who tell us what "god" told them...they are the true believers. They judge not..they leave that up to God. :)
  • Those hostile people aren't really Christians. They're just playing one in real life, as the saying goes.
  • Some, not all seem to think life is like some damned football game and they have to pray for god to be on their side so their team will win.. duhhh...Yey team and god, huh?
  • "He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love." (1 John 4:8) "If anyone says, 'I love God', and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen. And this command (charge, order, injunction) we have from Him: that he who loves God shall love his brother also." (1 John 4:20-21) "Beloved, do not put faith in every spirit, but prove (test) the spirits to discover whether they proceed from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world." (1 John 4:1) "Let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know and understand God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him]." (1 John 4:7) "As Jesus landed, He saw a great crowd waiting, and He was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things." (Mark 6:34) "Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another. By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves]." (Jesus, John 13:34b) "Become useful and helpful and kind to one another, tenderhearted (compassionate, understanding, loving-hearted), forgiving one another [readily and freely], as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32) "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy'; But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. ...Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them." (Matthew 5:43-44, Romans 12:14,20) "Brethren...[do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another." (Galatians 5:13) "As occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing..." (Galatians 6:10a) "Walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God's service, living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another." (Ephesians 4:2) "All [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tenderhearted and humble). Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called..." (1 Peter 3:8-10) "Let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)." (Ephesians 4:15) "Hatred stirs up contentions, but love covers all transgressions." (Proverbs 10:12) "Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others]." (1 Peter 4:8) "Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper]. Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]. Above all these [put on] love..the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony]." (Colossians 3:14) "May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness (of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [that His glory may be both manifested and recognized]." (Philippians 1:11) "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ...In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him." (2 John 4:7-11,17)
  • Only the hypocrites are that way. True Christians should not be that way at all.
  • more of a people thing more so then a religion thing. Some people just have an inherent need to be smarter then everyone else ( A pride issue ) if they didnt have religion to prop themselves up they would find another outlet. Religion itself is harmless in my eyes, Mans interpretation of it is often used for evil.
  • Most of the ones I run into are major hypocrites regarding their religion...so I think that's why
  • They aren't. Where've you been?
  • Judge not least you be judged unless they don't believe the same as you.
  • Wow, I hate that someone has made you feel that way. I pray it wasn't me, as I would never want to give anyone the impression that I was hostile and unloving since it is the exact opposite of what Christianity is all about. If it was me, I sincerely apologize for my words and actions, if it was another Christian I extend to you the same apology . Jesus tells us to "judge not lest thou be judged" and we are told that we should be gentle, kind, loving, patient, peacemakers, joyful, self controlled, and good...we are to look for those things when trying to decide if someone is a true Christian...it doesn't sound like you've been shown those things by the ones you are referring to. That is a true shame and nothing that Christianity promotes at all.
  • I am a christian and I do not think that of myself... but there are some "christians" that do what you speak of... and for that I am sorry, Jesus wanted the opposite.
