Why do muslims always ask christians to fast with them for Ramadan, when they will not do the same for Lent and fast with the christians?

I don't know but I'm sure the Christians would have pulled the same stunt if they had thought of it first.

Because they are holier than Christians, cleaner, more polite, more pious, better in every way. . Just ask them. . Regarding the answer by killdrphil, perhaps he should give credit where credit is due: Christians never thought of this tactic. The holier-than-thou Christian is an anomaly, not the rule. .

They "always" eh? I know a number of Muslim people and I have never encountered this problem. Guess they don't always.

Generalisation... I have plenty of Muslim friends, none of whom have ever asked me or our other non-Muslim friends to fast with them.

well not all Christians fast for Lent. you can choose what to give up for Lent. when i was Catholic i usually chose alcohol or fast food. it's just a gesture & a nice one at that, i think. it's a way of saying "while i may not agree with your religion, i still invite you to be a part of mine." we don't have to accept to follow their holiday, just as they don't have to for us, either.
