Question

Help answer this question below.

Why is it that many questions are unanswered and then when one person may answer a question that was new days ago, suddenly other people will feel that they should answer it as well, even if they don't have a good answer?

I miss a lot of questions because they are put on at times when AUstralians are asleep, so if one suddenly appears that I have not seen, and I like it, I will answer it, even though it may be a few days old

If a question doesn't get answered right away it goes off the screen and you have to go looking for it. Some people, like me, will go through unanswered questions to see if we know the answer. If we answerit, it will go back on the screen and other people will see it and answer it. Now if you don't like the answers well that is between you and them.

because. When somebody sees that somebody actually asnwers the question other people think "oh somebody answered it, its worth it" I think evry question is cool so i always try to be the first to answer it and give them points so people will be like "oh,i want to answer too!"

A question asked and unanswered for even a few seconds CAN get buried in the morass of questions. If it's in the wrong category, people may not even know it exists if the search function is not working well (like now).

Many people stick to the "New Arrivals" or "Home page", answering questions as they come up. When they are answering a question, they may miss out on a number asked, as when questions are ANSWERED, too, they are placed on the home page (and New Arrivals).

When someone finds that question and answers it, it is brought back to the home page or new arrivals page. Therefore, many more people may see it.

When the question gets moved (via flagging) to a more correct category, those who haunt that category will have a much better chance of seeing and answering it, also sending it to the home page.

ALSO, when someone answers it, it will appear as a new answer on their friends' Friends Q&A list, so their friends may answer it, sending it...

It's kinda the luck of the draw on WHEN a question is asked whether there are a lot of people on the bag. After that, it's crap shoot on whether people will see it again. When they do, they may go "Oh... I can answer that one", and do, good answer or not. ;-)

If a question is old, it gets pushed to the bottom of lists and is buried unless someone digs to find it. When there is activity in a question, it often gets put back at the top of the list where other users will more easily see it and thus start answering it if it interests them.
