It may be some problem associated with UAC (User Account Control). In Vista, there's a distinction between having an admin account and having admin permissions enabled. All those annoying confirmation pop-ups are about this distinction... they're asking you to confirm that you want to enable your Uber-powers to do some operation that has potential risks. If some application which requires these powers isn't hooked up quite right to play the Vista way, it can be denied access to a resource, instead of generating the popup. Thus trouble. A simple "crowbar" cure is to turn of UAC, which defeats some of the security fences, but many consider it worth the risk, given the draconian and clumsy implementation of UAC in Vista. Word has it that Windows 7 solves these uglinesses, I have not tried it yet. I have the same problem , I have to go through my main account to sign in to my other accounts that I use for entertainment. It is most annoying. I HATE VISTA.
