You can do it several different ways. I've seen people paint straight onto their clothes in acrylic and it lasts a little while. For more permanent and controlled, you should screenprint it. You can set up your own screenprinting area if you have the room, time and equipment. I've found it incredibly hard to maintain and not worthwhile. You need a screen, emulsion, ink, a way to expose the emulsion (usually a light box because light bulbs by themselves don't work. like, at all.), a way to clean the emulsion, a scoop coater, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee_8IMx0uMo I would think it would be far easier (and in the end, cost effective) to send your design to a company (there are about 15 billion of these, especially online ones) that will screenprint for you. Acrylic paints are a good way to start. They will fade eventually but they're inexpensive.
