Zopitan is the brand name of zopiclone. It's a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic drug, which means it makes you sleepy but not in the same way that Xanax would. It's also known as Lunesta. It's not as addictive as Xanax, but it has been known to be habit-forming.
Common side effects: Gastrointestinal: taste disturbances including bitter metallic taste, dry mouth. Nervous system: disruption of REM sleep, double vision, drowsiness, memory impairments, visuospatial impairments, dizziness, headaches, and fatigue. Unexpected mood changes have been noted, which if experienced should lead to the drug being withdrawn from the patient.
