Don't you think there are way, way too many movie critics out there? What are the requirements for that title? Just get hired by a newspaper, radio or TV Station, watch a lot of movies and talk about them? If that's the case, I qualify.

That's probably all you need for a small paper for magazine. I think the critics writing for the larger media outlets have journalism degrees.

Good point. I think most of us would qualify! One of the reasons I don't pay attention to any of them. I can't count the number of times I went to a movie and loved it and happened to see reviews afterwards that said it was awful and vice versa. Used to watch Siskel and Ebert back in the day because they at least seemed to be educated about the subject. Can't say that for the new crop of so-called critics;)
