  • First you need to rip the dvd's. http://www.wikihow.com/Rip-a-DVD-with-DVD-Decrypter Then you need a good video editing program. I use Sony Vegas Studio, Nero is probably among the cheapest. Free, JahShaka was probably the best as far as versatility goes, but the old incarnation was confusing, but there's been a shake-up and it has been taken over by other people http://jahshaka.org/News/p2_articleid/76 Then, still under free, there's VirutalDub. I've never used it and it's a one-man band but a lot of people think it's great. http://www.virtualdub.org/ Or Google free video editing software Once you've used your editing software to make your cuts and splices, you'll also use it to render your completed movie, probably to mpeg-2. Your resulting file will probably be too big for the DVD so you'll need something like DVD Shrink. I've never used this, I cut my efforts until they DID fit. But you don't want to cut, you want to add, so... I just looked at the site for DVD Shrink, and they claim you can rip with it also, and, whoop-de-doo, it's free. Here's the DVD Shrink site: http://www.dvdshrink.org/what_en.php They don't have it to download, so here's where you can do that: http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/CD-DVD-Rip-Other-Tools/DVD-Shrink.shtml Then you'll need DVD burning software. I'll leave that to you. One last word, you may be able to do everything with Nero 9, if you're willing to spend $70 to download it from: http://www.nero.com/enu/nero9-introduction.html I have no connection with Nero, but I do have an old copy of it that came with a TV tuner and it's well known. Good luck.
  • i like dvd fab to remove copy protection and record win movie maker should allow you the splice scenes
