I know that there are people that randomly rate questions down but are there also people that randomly rate questions up?

Sometimes I will go through a post and rate people up, for aparantly no reason. And I definately like to rate people up for giving an honest opinion, even and especially if their opinion differs from mine, but I dunno. That would be pretty cool though.

Probably. As for me, I don't randomly rate because if you did that you could be rating up utter nonsense. There are times when I rate most things up though, and there are other times where I only rate up something that impresses me and makes me laugh or think. It depends on my mood. It is far more likely that I will rate up everyones *answers* simply for taking the time to write a credible answer.

I have noticed that most of the time the first 5 questions will get rated then after that the ratings just stop. I don't think it is fair that they just stop a quarter of the way down there are some good answers in the back

I do with not always answering it, because with I have no idea what answer i would give or someone took my answer. So then I give that person points as well

I don't think people do this randomly. I agree that some rate answers down for no reason that's apparent to most of us. In the same way, some people will rate answers up when other people would rate neither up nor down. I think it's all about opinion.

I don't. I don't really see the point of randomly doing either. It's just not for me. I will gladly rate questions for a reason but not just randomly.

Much like nevets, I (at times) rate people up just for taking the time to give an answer with some thought behind it.

I usually rate the question up if I think it's a good question. If it's really bad I will rate it down. However, if I simply don't care for the question I just leave it alone and don't rate it at all.

I don't "randomly" rate, but I do go often look at questions on the new questions page and rate the questions (most often rate up) that I think are interesting, clever or purposeful. I rate more questions than I answer. I like doing it from that page because you can not see who asked the question, so my rating is not based on personalities but on the question themselves.

i don't hardly down-rate. i will randomly up-rate when i agree and couldn't have said it better.

I rate every question I answer up..everytime. I rate answers up that I like, and never rate down unless they suck.. really bad.

Yes - especially if I see someone has negative points for asking an honest question. I also like to rate question up when I find them interesting enough to answer. I seldom rate people down. We should live our lives to encourage, not to discourage. The only times I have ever donrated have been for something grotesquely offensive of vulgar. That has been very, very seldom.

If I run out of qustions I want to answer I will scroll down and read the questions that I would like the answer to and give out points.
