When I was on anti-depressant Lexapro last fall, I gained 30 pounds. When I told my doctor, she said that the medicine had nothing to do with it. I found Internet info that says that's one of the side effects. She still wouldn't admit it. Who is correct?

For what it is worth, I have know people who took SRI drugs like lexapro, and they also gained weight. One explanation I have heard is that depressed people lose their appetite and when the medicine kicks in, they get their appetite back and start enjoying food and it sneaks up on them a little bit. Did that happen to you? -
