Can you simultaneously connect your computer to cable modem AND DSL to get the combined bandwidth of both?

    Not really. The best that you could to is multi-stream better. You would be able to have them do different things at the same time, but te bandwidth would not combine together.

    In fact, you may lose overall performance from overhead as it tries to decide what data goes through which pipe.

    And that all assumes that you can even get them both to cooperate. It CAN be done, but it's tricky.
