How does the demon possession thing in the show supernatural work? Can demons in the show posses anyone at will? Or are all those people they possess people who have made contracts with deamons?

i have yet to see that show but, from my knowing (which isnt alot) demons may possess anyone at will if they're strong enough. it really depends on the person and the spirit
