  • You have your nuts on both ends of any group - the bad thing is they are ones with the biggest mouths and the most media coverage. Those in the sane middle ground are often too busy making a living to make a fuss and the media is too darn lazy to actually look for news. Good or bad it's kinda of what we are stuck with. The bad is it all gets so tiresome - the good is often these are the very people that make the sane undecided people understand some have went too far. +5
  • Desperation is one thing if you are Jean Valjean and stealing bread to feed your family...or a white/rich/old guy party that is reactionary to the core. Watching rich old white guys who are desperate is a very ugly thing. I no longer watch...I turn my head..I close my eyes...I put earplugs in my ears. :(
  • this isn't a question so much as you, stating your opinion. right along the lines of "have you stopped beating your wife?" there's really no way to "answer" this
  • Yeah I herd that's the new talking point. Good luck with trying to convince the country that....
  • Seriously if people are coming in mass then there is a real problem and you know that, I suppose they shouldn't have called those people tea baggers after all.
  • I actually saw one of those today and almost made me puke. This woman who looked like she had just escaped from a mental institution in the middle of a shock therapy session is waving her arms up and down and screaming (while swallowing her crocodile tears) "this is what my America has come to...~sob, sob, sob, sniff, sniff, sniff~ And all the idiots in the back are screaming and clapping. So, I'm saying to myself "your" America? And, btw, where were you when Bush was robbing, rapping and ridiculing "your" America? They truly sicken me!
  • So, then what you're saying is that if you don't agree with the government you should keep your mouth shut. Interesting Free Speech stance. "Dissent is patriotic" -Hilary Clinton Did she forget to add, unless you disagree with OUR side? Stomping on our right to Free Speech is what is making people so mad. Being lied to by the government is making people angry, Being railroaded into a costly and inefficient bill is making people mad. Not being listened to by the "represntatives" is what is riling "We the People." Bringing back an American form of the East German communist Stasi via the "something fishy" network of comrades spying on their fellow citizens makes patriotic Americans uncomfortable. The insurance companies are paying off the people who don't want socialism...yeah, right! Real Americans don't care if the state-controlled media and the government think speaking out is double plus ungood!
  • Liberals are so sure they are right that common sense doesn't matter. They plan to take everything from those that have worked for it and give it to those who couldn't be bothered putting forth their ownn effort to get an education or to get ahead. Legalized theft. How long before those that are considered rich take what they have and go somewhere they will be appreciated for their contribution to society and leave all the leeches to feed on one another. Liberals better wake up! There is no such thing as a free lunch! Eventually someone has to pay.
  • well the Republicans Party have no policies ... so they may as well spend their money on busing in fake payed for protesters to read carefully scripted lies... shame they never took acting lessons before hand
  • I can't wait until these misguided fools find themselves languishing in an underfunded Medicare Hellhole nursing home covered with bedsores screaming for help from a staff that totally ignores them as they slowly die of sepsis.
  • Where in the story does it mention this plan? Did you mean a different story than the one you linked to? Or was it this paragraph? Republican leaders have pledged to use town halls, ads and other forums to intensify their assault on the Democratic-led reform effort. "I think it's safe to say that, over the August recess, as more Americans learn more about [Democrats'] plan, they're likely to have a very, very hot summer," House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said. I don't see any mention of disruption. Or insurance companies. Are you sure it was in the linked story? Does free speech begin and end with Democrats? Or is it the right of everyone?
  • NO! It is not healthy for U.S.democracy! Healthy would be if all the people could hear and talk. Not some shouting down others.Freedom of speech goes both ways!....But some want to use those words to justify B.S..That is not healthy for the U.S.either....They don`t seem to care what`s healthy for our country, only what`s healthy for THEM!
  • It shows who the nutjobs are
  • The government of the United States is not a democracy!
  • It's strange that Nancy Pelosi would equate patriotic Americans wanting to use their right to free speech with Nazis: "The speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has accused some protesters of “carrying swastikas,” Brian Baird, a Democrat from Washington, declared the protesters guilty of “Brownshirt tactics”. http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/opinion/2009/0815/1224252584101.html ...especially when there are so many striking similarities to germany in the 1930's and the current administration: Obama-charismatic leader Hitler - charismatic leader Obama-people follow him blindly without question Hitler - people follow him blindly without question Obama - his real family identity and his name Soetoro gets buried in the media Hitler - his real family identity and his Jewish name Schickelgruber gets buried in the media Obama - has Soros and Rothschild as financial backers Hitler - had Prescott Bush and Rothschild as financial backers Obama - economy is in a Recession Hitler - economy was in a Recession Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power or beauty Believing that you are special and can associate only with equally special people Requiring constant admiration Having a sense of entitlement Taking advantage of others Inability to recognize needs and feelings of others Being envious of others Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s wording: SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS. Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows: SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS. (a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities: (1) Attempting to influence legislation. (2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes. … (7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization. Obama promised during the campaign to create a Socialist National Civilian Security Force similar to what they have in other Marxist regimes. Yesterday, the US House took the first step in organizing Dear Leader's dream youth service corp. The House passed the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act yesterday. The bill includes language indicating young people will be forced to participate in mandatory national service programs. The bill also states that "service learning" will be a mandatory part of the youth curriculum. That doesn't sound much like "volunteerism" does it? Info Wars and Free Republic reported: The House passed a bill yesterday which includes disturbing language indicating young people will be forced to undertake mandatory national service programs as fears about President Barack Obama’s promised “civilian national security force” intensify. The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, was passed yesterday by a 321-105 margin and now goes to the Senate. Under section 6104 of the bill, entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, the legislation states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.” Section 120 of the bill also discusses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency”. Pastors who spoke against Hitler´s worldview and his murderous regime found themselves on trial and frequently imprisoned for "Abuse of Pulpit." In America, hate- crime legislation has the potential to criminalize Christians and pastors who speak out against the homosexual agenda. Hitler prevented dissenters from using radio to challenge his worldview. Many powerful liberals in America have made clear their intent to reintroduce the "Fairness Doctrine" that would require conservative and religious radio stations to offer equal time to anti- Christian, anti-conservative worldviews.
  • It's certainly not excusable. Shouting down others and intimidating people who disagree with you is not a good way to go about letting your argument be heard, especially when all they're doing is screaming, anger, fear, and hate and not really saying much else. I believe some heroes actually bring guns to the meetings. Truly, these are American patriots.
  • Unfortunately, control over health care by the U.S. government would actually be a lot less healthy for the people and democracy. The last thing you want to do here is give government the final decision over your health. That's a scary scenario and only creates more momentum for governnment intrusion in other vital areas of our lives as well. Currently, the administration is doing everything possible to pass this massive health care package including being less than forthright in its details. However, disruption of any kind is not conductive in reaching a viable conclusion and should never be condoned by either liberals or conservatives. But, one has to realize that the media coverage of town hall meetings follows their pattern of liberal bais as they too have their own agenda in creating a prescribed course instead of accurately reporting just the news. People have to remember that the primary goal of government is to take over our lives, and health care is a big step in that direction.
