None! =) I guess it would be easy to say Nietsche - but I think he gets a hard time, and really doesn't deserve it. His philosophies were twisted and manipulated in order to support the Nazi ideology. You could also say Marx and Engles, if you were anti-communist. Again, their philosophies were twisted and manipulated too. Used to justify things they did not attempt to justify. I think that really philosophers haven't had a bad impact on humanity and civilisation, how could they? They enrich humanity and civilisation. Ultimately though, many of them have been used to justify events the philosopher never intended to justify. Very often, the people who criticize certain philosophers (principally Marx) have never taken the time to actually read any of their work. Blame the person who takes the thoughts and philosophical discussions of another, distorts them, and then implements them in the real world, not the philosopher himself. That's my view =)

Karl Marx. Hitler. Mohammed. All pretty bad, but Karl Marx's impact has proven to be the most damaging.

This really doesn't answer your question, but I thought you might find it interesting, morrisonhimself. Aristotle is a respected, and honored philosopher in most people's minds. He was also the father of modern vivisection. He used to cut people apart to study them. This was while they were still alive, and with no anesthesia! The lucky people were prisoners who were considered subhuman at the time. Obviously, they weren't put back together after being cut up. This is rarely mentioned as it would tarnish his "great philosopher" image.

Emanuel Kant, the anti enlightenment philosopher.
