The Moon has a composition that is similar to Earth's. However, there are a number of differences. For one thing, the moon has significantly lower concentrations of volatile elements and compound. (These include things that have relatively low boiling point like sodium and water.) It also has higher concentrations of refractory elements and compounds (things with high boiling points like magnesium and titanium). The Moon is also unusually low in iron.
