Yes you do - if you want to use Windows XP. Microsoft require you to have a licence to use their software, and you don't have that right now. You have other choices of OS though, such as Linux. This is free to use, and all the upgrades are free too. http://www.ubuntu.com http://www.linuxmint.com etc
