  • Definitely. It would constitute "cruel & unusual punishment" IMHO, if such a privilege was denied to them. +5
  • That would depend on the crime the prisoner committed, if he is a child molester, Hell no. I would not force a child to go see a parent in prison.
  • Yes, even prisoners have their rights. To be able to see their children is one of those rights.
  • i believe these rights, among others, should be part of the sentence. most offenders deserve no penalty in these rights. some don't deserve such consideration. . drawing the line between these two groups is a tough job. but i see the other side. . i live in israel. here captured terrorists get family visits, and all other rights of a prisoner in israel. including GETTING PAID ! the laws don't currently differentiate between regular offenders and terrorists. so by law, we're paying terrorists out to destroy us. . all the while israeli POWs don't even get basic red cross visits, to make sure they're still alive.
  • Yes, although they have committed a crime they are still human beings, and not all of them are "evil". It also isn't fair on the child if they are denied seeing their father, though they shouldn't be forced to if they don't want to.
