Yes I have.
Yes, several of them. And if you are considering hiring one, I would HIGHLY recommend picking one who specializes in the field you're about to get into. Don't use a general attorney who dabbles in many areas.

Yes, a few times.
Yes. Once for an accident suit and the other for worker's compensation back injury on the job. Most lawyers charge a fee if they recover any monies and that fee increases if case has to go to court. It was stressful but end result was worth it.
Yes, a few times. Lost some, won some.
Yes, several times. Win or lose, it's never a good experience, only a matter of lessor evils and a major expense. :(
Yes.
Yep...a couple of time. :)
Yes. Several times. Over the past 3 decades.
What I do is to buy the law books and learn all that is there to learn about the legal aspects of the case I have.
Then I engage a very junior lawyer who is just out of law college and has enrolled in the bar council.
I sit with the lawyer and make him understand the case the way I studied it and bring him to my own conclusions as to how to proceed with the case.
The junior lawyer costs me very little and the case is invariably won as I am working with the lawyer.
Many of these junior lawyers I engaged 20 -30 years back have well established practices now.
The benefit is that I can walk into their offices anytime without an appointment.
Nope, mine worked for free.
many times in my short life
yes, i have to hire an attorney. it is my first time...who can I trust?
I have hired an attorney for my own bankrupcy, I hired an attorney for my Divorce in IL, I have hired an attorney to help me get my back child support. I am now a paralegal and know more about the IL laws and that information is very valuable. What others do not know can be learned by getting a degree in the Paralegal area. It is amazing what I have learned.
No, I have not .
Yes once in my life when i have to fight for my store .
I just hired a lawyer to put together a lease agreement.
