To average letter grades, a numerical value from 0 to 4 is assigned to each letter grade as follows: A = 4 grade points, B = 3 grade points, C = 2 grade points, D = 1 grade point and F = 0 grade points. To get the average letter grade, divide the total number of grade points earned for the semester by the number of credits taken.
