The Quick and the Dead. But, I'm not familiar much with Westerns, and don't know any of the really classic ones. Still, I really liked this one. Also, a worthy mention, Undead Alive. But, yeah, it had zombies in it so...

While I L-O-V-E movies, I don't particularly like westerns. But if I HAD to pick one, I guess I would say "McClintock" with John Wayne!

"MacKenna's Gold" (1969) is my favourite "old school" western. It has an awesome cast led by Gregory Peck and hasn't yet been available on home video in it's longer "Road Show" version. This is an injustice that will hopefully be someday addressed by Blu-Ray. As far as as the "new style", grittier western is concerned, I'd have to go with "The Long Riders" (1980) masterfully directed by Walter Hill. The brothers of the original "James Gang" are all played by actual brothers... Frank and Jesse James were played by Stacey and James Keach, the Younger brothers were played by David, Keith and Robert Carradine and the Miller boys were played by Dennis and Randy Quaid. Inpired casting, acting and direction make this a must see. Hope this helps.
