Does it annoy anybody else when people answer questions that were obviously not directed at them (i.e. questions to a specific gender that people answer no, I'm not gay or no I'm a girl) or is it just me?

• Actually I think that I didn't ask the question clearly... I was trying to ask if non-answers bother anybody for example if someone were to ask: What is a good way to cook a steak? and I were to answer I don't know I don't eat meat it's a non-answer, why not just leave the question alone?

• I see... Well, some people answer questions like that for points only. Actually, as a non-answer, they are really Nonsense, and you can flag them as such. "I don't know", "You're gay", "You're an idiot", stuff like can be flagged with impunity. If there's more to the answer, then they may just be baiting the questioner or their friends. There are literally hundreds of reasons why people answer questions here. We may never really know the motivation. ;-)

• I'm the same way...my posting that I don't know is just a waste of space...this question is one that I didn't phrase correctly and I'm really annoyed that I can't edit it. I didn't mean that people shouldn't answer questions addressed to others but that I can't stand it when people give non-answers, like "I don't know."
