  • I don't think it's weird. I have taken showers with my dogs before, as that was the only way I could wash them at the time, plus it did a better job than washing them in a basin, or outside. They seemed to have a perfectly good time, enjoyed the attention, and it was easier to dry them off on tiles than it would have been elsewhere.
  • Neither, it sounds like a recipe for disaster. Water and soap flying around and not to mention very painful claws! Ouch!
  • As long as you're just bathing with your dog then no it's not morally wrong. Is it weird? In my opinion yes, but then again I don't have a dog, so I can't really judge someone for what they do.
  • I think it depends on the situation and reason behind the bathing together. Are you wearing any clothing while this bathing is taking place? I have to physically be in the tub to bath my kitty however, I am wearing clothing and then after the cat bathing is complete I have a need to shower after. So wierd, no... as long as you are wearing clothing and not just bathing with your pet to soak in it's filth and such.
  • Depends on the respective sizes of you, your dog and your bath and the reason you bathe together. No problem if it's a small dog and it's the easiest way to bath it. Not so easy if it's a large breed such as a Bernese Mountain Dog. By the way if dogs are properly and regularly groomed they seldom need bathing.
  • Neither!
  • I,d say it was weird and dirty too. Uuueeeuukkkk!
  • no, its a showing of playfulness, and caring
  • It is best to ask your dog how he/she feels about it.
  • Everyone is weird - and some of us are proud of it! If your dog doesn’t mind why should you or anyone else?
  • No. Unless you try to drown the dog or something. My dog wouldn't fit in my bathtub.
  • Don't worry, it's just a little weird. Just a little.
  • as long as you don't practise "drop the soap"
  • Depends on how often you do it, and whether or not you touch your dogs dogie doodle. If your dog smells, it's easier to wash him if you hop in with him... If he doesn't actually need the bath, you might be crazy. And if you do in fact touch your dog's dogie doodle, than you're definitely just plain sick.
  • Kinky! You need help.
  • Bit weird for sure...
  • That would be fun I think except my girl has talons...they go beyond claws...and yes I do clip them, she has naturally long nails and we live in the country so no hard pavement to wear thenm down. I have found that to give my dogs a bath requires tying them up and hobbling them and muzzeling them...no just joking.. they like to go to the grooming parlour and be properly treated...you should see them nose stuck in the air lapping up the attention...no they are not poodles - they are greyhounds... with attitude.
  • Absolutely not! It's neither morally wrong nor is it weird. It's fun, you and your dog get closer, you love him (or her) and he loves you. But don't forget to wash behind his ears!
  • Only if you won't share the rubber ducky! <wink> Naw...if it's easier and less stressful for the dog..who cares! I've swam with some of my doggies past...My Therapy Dog, Bossco LOVED water (go figure...crossbred Retriever..Golden R. and Black Lab!) He used to tow us with his tail in the bay of San Diego...once he even saved a little boy. As long as you are not causing harm to any...HAVE FUN!
  • Depends what you do with the dog in the bath.... Bit wrong but someone had to say it!
  • As long as you are only bathing together. If you are going along the lines of bestiality, well that is wrong but if you happen to be in the same tub together with some water in it... Meh. No issue there. It might be kindof messy though, and counterproductive, cause of all the hair and ickys on the dog.
  • Shower? OK... Bath? Isn't that just a little dirty.. I mean even after the bath would you both smell like wet dog?
  • Just weird and a little gross :)
  • Neither. Taking a bath with your dog is practical and it saves water and time.
  • Nope. i think it's totally fine. Plus, way easier. I just adopted a 3 year old, 45 pound pitbull and tried showering him in the tub while I was holding him on a lease from outside the tub. Although he was pretty good, I think he felt like i was torturing him since he was "forced" in there and I wasn't. He really looked so sad. The next time I showered him I decided to get in with him. I think he felt less "tortured" because I was under the shower too. It became more of a "game" or something to him. He sat still and was totally calm. Plus, I wasn't concerned about getting all my cloths wet and nasty so I actually was able to give him a better wash. Overall, it was a win-win situation.
  • It depends. Are you showering or sitting naked in a tub with it? Showering seems ok but naked in a tub is weird. Soaking in a tub with fur and dirt from the dog seems strange and dirty.
  • It kind of defeats the purpose of washing
  • If you have a shower tub combination then you could wash the dog and then stand up and shower yourself off. I have a large shower where someone could sit in one corner and read a hardback book while I showered. Plus I have one of those shower handles like somefolks have at their kitchen sink. It works well to shower the dog and let him shake in there when the weather is cold. Then I let him out to get dried by my wife while I shower both me and the walls off. I make sure to place his fur in a zip lock baggy, so as not to clog the drain. But when it's over 60 it's outside and a hose for him.
  • OK, as long as he doesn't decide to run after the rubber duck.
  • depends how much time you spend washing his privates. actually...it's kinda gross.
  • just weird - if you're soaking in the same tub full of water has the dog. Very practical, if its from the point of view of getting the dog clean. On the RARE occasions I bathe the cats, I strip take them in the tub/shower, close the glass doors and go for it... Lordy, they HATE it... but it's the only way to force them to stay in the tub during a bath. As others have said, then I turn them loose to shiver, glare, hide, etc while I have a shower as well...
  • I don't take baths very often, I'm a shower person. Once a week I bring the dog into the shower with me. It makes bathing her so much earier and makes much less of a mess. The fun comes in after the shower when she runs around the house acting like a goofball. She runs around, rolls around, then hops on the bed to groom herself.
  • my wife takes a bath everyday with our 2 basenji dogs and it's not weird or wrong they're and that's with her as long as they're happy
  • No, I don't think that it's wrong at all. I think it is sweet and I'm sure your dog loves it!
