If you look at societies throughout history, everyone has had some type of religion. The Native Americans, ancient Egyptians, ancient Greeks and Romans, Hebrews, Muslims, Voo Doo, etc. There are some things that you will find in all of these. They have a God or Gods or some higher level being that has power over them, their religion lays the groundwork for the moral structure of that society (i.e. 10 commandments for Christians), it is used to explain things that people don't understand (Hercules took the sun across the sky, God created the earth, etc.) and all religions explain what happens to you when you die. Which one is right? What makes one more right than another? I honestly don't know.

The one's being fought now are NOT against those who believe in God. It's quite the opposite. Islam is a religion of terror. Pure and simple. Although i do believe that in every muslim there's a christian screaming to get out.

Most religions claim to show the path to God. But then most also claim that their route is the only one that works. They can't all be right about both those things. Chances are they are wrong on both counts.

Hi Wis. My two cents worth is this; there is only one commandment, do nothing that will deliberately harm another person. Everything else is acceptable conduct. If one follows this precept, then we do not have wars, we do not have discrimination, we do not have borders, etc. What we do have is total and complete acceptance of each other. This acceptance I would call "love" and this is what I believe most of the great religious teachers of historical note meant when they talked. Everything else is man-interpreted and confusing and has led, as you pointed out, to wars.
