  • Assuming you are playing the ball forward in your stance, even with your left heel, you are playing a shaft with a low stiffness and are getting to the ball before the shaft releases thru, thereby taking the loft off of the face. If you are playing the ball more to the middle of your swing arc, the centre of your stance, this does the same thing to the loft - but it is a great shot into the wind. Generally the same rule applies for woods as it dopes for irons - to make the ball go up, hit down. Make sure you rotate with your spine and around your shoulders, stay 'down' and swing thru. A good swing thought is 'low and slow' for the take away. Come back to the ball from the inside, and have your left arm straight at impact. ( assuming RH golfer ) Good luck; have fun.
  • Probably moving the ball forward in your stance will do the trick. Some move it up as far as even with the left toe. Experiment and see what works.
