G'day xJimmyloudx, Thank you for your question. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual head of Tibetan buddhism. He is believed to be the reincarnation of Avalokitesvara, the Buddha of Compassion and when the Dalai Lama dies his spirit is believed to pass into the body of an infant.
