Beats me. All I know is that I used the word shop more often in Europe and the word store more often in America.

Maybe stores sell a variety of goods. ie.hardware Maybe shops sell one specific thing. ie.lingerie or women's wear.

Thats a good question.. I have no idea. Maybe a store would be where you buy food? We say supermarket here. Lol who knows.
