The LDS Church doesn't believe in Trinitarianism, which is the mainstream belief that God is Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit in one. Most every denomination in Christianity supports this. So while Jesus is the same Jesus that died on the cross in both, one of them is viewed differently.

It is not a matter of who is right or who is wrong. I am just a human, so are you. We (Christians) interpret the core content and intent of the bible in one way (as a whole group of Christian denominations). We all are right on some points and of interpretation and wrong/incorrect on other points. Yet, as a whole, Christians believe universally, the same over all message of the Bible. Universally, Christians believe in the absolute authority of the Bible. The items which one Christian denomination may differ on compared to another might be dress code or wine vs grape juice. These would include extremely trivial mannerisms with in the belief structure. One Denomination might be evangelical and the other might be more orthodox. Both: maintaining the overall and core content of the bible. Now you take a look at Mormonism. Staying with in their Doctrinal structure. Their books do not align with them selves. They are contractive with in their own body of documents. The Belief system is in complete contrast to the bible. To Mormons, the bible is more of an after thought or an Christ-ionic symbol attempting to align them with main stream Christianity. To LDS, the bible holds little or no authority. Their Book of Mormon is supposedly there great authoritative document. This document that has had dozens of core doctrinal changes made to it since its conception. The basis for the documents, the alleged first vision, has several major versions. Angles – god and christ – Moroni … which is it? This is the foundation of the whole church. Joseph could not even keep this, his first attempt at his fictional church, intact long enough to start his supposed book. Setting aside the fact that it (Book of Mormon) holds none of the main contradicting beliefs that the Mormon church upholds. It is the “KEYSTONE” of their religion. This would include polygamy, exaltation, eternal marriage and baptism for the dead. Getting back to the main issue at hand, using the previous vent as fatter. It is not whether or not Mormonism uses the same Jesus as Contemporary/mainstream Christianity. I do not even think they use the same Jesus as Joseph Smiths Mormonism. At first Jesus was God in flesh, than he slowly became a separate god. Than God slowly became an exalted man. In short, Latter day saints (yeah) do not align themselves with the precepts of the bible and there fore are not worshiping the God and Jesus of the bible.

From what I have heard Mormons believe Jesus is God and the other way 'round...Not God is the father of Jesus......But maybe it is the same Jesus and they just think he is God???? not sure but that's the idea I get from the mormons on this site.

If someone told you the current president of the United States had six fingers on his left hand you would not say that "isn't the same Barac Obama that other Americans have for a President". You would say they were wrong about the number of fingers he has on his left hand. . With Christ, what is said concerning our difference of opinion ABOUT Christ depends entirely on what they are trying to prove. The intent is to get people to ignore us without ever checking for themselves to see what we believe. This is a tactic commonly employed by those whose statements will not endure the light of INFORMED opinion, and is done to try to prevent people from examining the facts and forming their own opinion.

When in Rome, do as the Romans..Both are right depending on your station in life or POV.

In point of fact, there are approximately 38,000 different sects of Christianity. They all think they are right and everyone else is wrong. Personally, I don't think any of them have it right, and if Jesus really did live, I doubt if he would have approved of so much infighting amongst those who profess to follow him.

Your question cannot be definitively answered by any mortal, not to mention it creates a false dichotomy. Not everyone who disagrees with Mormonism thinks Mormons worship a different Jesus.

The fact is, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does in fact worship a different Jesus than the Catholics and Protestants. Or perhaps I should say it is the same Jesus, but he is perceived differently. You see, the Catholics and Protestants concocted their version of Jesus long before there was a Bible. In fact the Bible would not even be compiled until 75 years AFTER they concocted their version of Jesus. But the "Mormons" have formed their version of Jesus by actual physical knowledge. Our founder and Prophet, Joseph Smith saw in vision God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. They actually appeared to him, in answer to prayer. So it really boils down to who is more accurate. Joseph Smith who actually say Jesus Christ, or the Catholics and Protestants who simply concocted what they believed to be Jesus Christ. I doubt there is any deception on either side...Later
