That's brilliant! Reminds me of the German phrase that means "its all Greek to me" - "Es kompt mir Spanisch vor", which translates literally to "its all Spanish to me". Colloquialisms all!

Dutch as in pay for themselves? I still do not know what the fuss is about. We are just down to earth enough to say 'I only have five euro's I cannot pay your lunch too.' That is what being dutch is about. We are not always friendly, because honesty comes first. We say what we mean and do not wrap it up nicely so it will not hurt you. We talk about things openly, everything can be said. It is hard to offend dutch people, they will be like 'who's problem is that' and 'whatever' anyway. We are not very emotional and do not spill I love you's all day long. We just say it when it needs to be said. Otherwise it will lose its value.
