Help answer this question below.

Whenever I start up my laptop it will go through the usual boot up process but when it actually gets logged in the screen goes white except for the mouse. What could be causing this? I have an Acer laptop running vista.

    Your Vista is gone. What do you expect from vista its the worst all times. Well the problem is when your computer starts the logon.exe it gets stuck in a loop for startup. Try Restoring or Recovring it
