  • A net breeder holds the female and babys together so likely that the female will eat some of them.but a two way breeder holds the female but allows most of the babys to escape into the rest of the aquarium where they will be safer especially if they have lots of places to hind. The female has a dark spot either side of her belly,(gravid spot) which will get darker as she approaches birth. if you look very closely at the spot you may be able to spot the babys eyes around that time. But both breeders are very small so if you haven't got many other fish in the aquarium just leave her in the tank but provide lots of hiding places for the fry especially weed like cabomba. She'll be less stressed and you may loss a few fry but the fittest survive.
